Leading the executive team is Jim Long, CEO and President of Hendry Marine Industries, Inc. (HMI) Jim has 35 years of experience in an array of heavy commercial and industrial companies. Experienced in business development and managing high-profile acquisitions, he enjoys growing a business and the people in the business. Recognized for decisive leadership skills, integrity, team-building, well-developed planning, analytical, and communication skills, he is known as a servant leader with a passion for results.
Dennis Manelli, CFO and General Counsel is responsible for a broad range of duties at HMI including corporate governance, legal compliance, finance, human resources and strategic planning. He also serves as counsel to the Hendry family. Dennis has spent most of his career in the maritime industry and served as the first in-house counsel for the Tampa Port Authority. Dennis continues to build up the Hendry family legacy.
C.R. “Rick” Watts, Jr.
With over 25 years of experience, C.R. “Rick” Watts, President of Gulf Marine Repair, manages the shipyard and oversees the performance of personnel for safety, quality, scheduling, estimating, job and department cost and profit. He started working here right out of high school, learning the business from the ground up. First working as a welder’s helper and up through the ranks mastering such crafts as welding, burning, fitting, rigging, pipe fitting, hydraulics and machinists. Rick has assisted the Hendry family with many successful endeavors throughout the years and continues to be a leader in the industry.
PANCHO “SKEETER” MIGUEL
Pancho “Skeeter” Miguel, Vice President, Estimating. Skeeter has grown up in the ship repair industry having come to work right out of high school. In high school, he was an honor student (member of the National Honor Society) and was active in athletics. He has served in most crafts and understands what it takes to get a job done. He has worked with Rick in preparing bids for ship repair since 1989 and proven himself as a valuable member of our team.
Ronald Wyatt, Vice President, Production. Ronnie has emerged from a rigger and crane operator to Vice President through many and various duties he has carried out with excellence through his 40 years of service. Ronnie oversees the Ship Superintendents and the production crews that work on your vessels, ensuring the quality and on time delivery that we are known for.
We are proud of the people who service as Ship Superintendents and supervise the work on your vessels. All of them have years of experience. They are a good mixture of youthful energy and vast experience. Their careers range from 10 years to 40 years.
